S.A.S.S. — Special Application Snake System, Version 2
The Elite Core CAT-SASS-V2 carries four lines of Analog Audio, AES/EBU, or DMX down a single shielded CAT5, CAT6, or CAT7 cable. A top-mounted Neutrik® etherCON pass-through breaks out to four 3- or 5-pin XLRs, so it plugs directly into your analog or digital source. Pair it with a second CAT-SASS-V2 to send and receive four balanced lines over one Ethernet run.
The V2 is a complete redesign of the body, mounting, and labeling — while keeping the connectivity our customers have relied on for years. The previous heavy-gauge folded-steel housing is gone, replaced by a patent-pending carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer body. The entire unit now weighs less than the old housing did on its own.
Where the original was loose-whip only, the V2 is fully modular. Run it as a whip, or mount it in a rack at any time — the IP-rated etherCON pass-through is built for it. The interior wiring harness separates completely from the pass-through, so you can route cable through the front or the back of the panel. And for the first time on a CAT-SASS, top and bottom labeling trays let you add custom labels to every unit.
Every CAT-SASS-V2 is hand-built in the U.S.A. Each one is tested before leaving our headquarters in Greenbrier, AR to ensure durability and longevity.
